From Food Waste to Fodder for Stray Cattle
Every day, large amounts of leftover food and vegetable waste go unused and end up in garbage.
Through our Chaara Car initiative, we collect and repurpose this waste into fodder for stray cattle, turning waste into survival.

“What we throw away… could feed a life”
And we chose to make that change happen
The Problem
Every day, large amounts of food waste, vegetable scraps, and green fodder are discarded from households and markets.
Instead of being reused, this waste ends up in garbage dumps contributing to pollution and inefficient waste management.
At the same time, stray cattle roam the streets searching for food, often forced to eat plastic and harmful waste just to survive.
What could have been nourishment becomes a threat to their lives.
And most of us?
We throw away excess food.
We ignore the waste around us.
We move on…
While hunger exists just outside our homes.
So we decided to stop wasting it.
We collect food waste from households, events, and markets, and convert it into fodder for stray cattle — turning waste into survival.
It started with a simple idea to collect what others throw away.
No funding. No system. Just people.
We began collecting food waste and green fodder
And redirecting it to feed stray cattle.
And slowly…
something started changing.
More people joined.
More hands came forward.
